Did you know the month of May is National Military Appreciation Month?

The month honors over 90 million Americans and over 230 years of our nation’s history by recognizing all those who are and have served in the branches of the military and their families.

The month recognizes several special days including:

  • Loyalty Day: Celebrated on May 1st, the day honors our allegiance to the United States and pay tribute to the heritage of American freedom.
  • VE Day: On May 8, 1945, the United States & Great Britain celebrated Victory in Europe and the defeat of the Nazi regime.
  • Military Spouse Appreciation DayThis year, the day will take place on May 9th and is celebrated the Friday before Mother’s Day. The day is meant to acknowledge the significant contributions, support and sacrifices of the spouses of the Armed Forces.
  • Armed Forces Day: Celebrates the unification of the Armed Forces under one department. And President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our Military for their patriotic service in support of our country.
  • Memorial Day: A day in which we remember and honor all the men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
